New Engine in the KTM Duke
According to a bike news report, the company is now preparing to phase out its existing 690cc single-cylinder engine in favor of a new twin-cylinder (Parallel-Twin) engine platform. This transition is being undertaken because complying with new emission norms is becoming increasingly challenging for large single-cylinder engines, and manufacturers are now shifting towards more modern and efficient technologies. In terms of power output, this upcoming engine is expected to generate approximately 60 to 70 BHP.
Although it was previously believed that this bike would utilize the company’s sub-500cc parallel-twin engine, according to a bike report, this is not the case. According to the information available, this test model is being equipped not with the smaller 490cc platform, but rather with a larger middleweight twin-cylinder engine.
