Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to bring the all-electric GLC to India on November 4, 2026. The new SUV will sit alongside the familiar petrol and diesel GLC, but it takes a very different route, with a fully electric powertrain and a long list of technology features. The India-bound model is expected to be the GLC 400 4MATIC, with local assembly at the company’s Chakan facility in Maharashtra. Its headline numbers are impressive, but the final Indian specifications and price will only be clear when Mercedes-Benz officially launches it.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric India Launch on November 4
Mercedes-Benz has scheduled the GLC Electric’s India debut for November 4, 2026. The SUV is expected to be locally assembled at the brand’s Chakan plant near Pune. Reports point to the GLC 400 4MATIC as the version planned for the Indian market. Local assembly could help the company position the electric SUV more competitively, although the actual price will depend on the final equipment, taxes and component costs. Mercedes-Benz is yet to announce the complete India-specific variant and feature list.
94kWh Battery, Dual Motors and All-Wheel Drive
The GLC 400 4MATIC is reported to use a 94kWh NMC battery pack paired with two electric motors. Together, the motors are rated to produce around 490hp and 800Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels, giving the SUV the added traction expected from an electric performance model. Mercedes-Benz’s international figures put the 0-100km/h sprint at about 4.3 seconds. These are headline figures for the global model; buyers should check the final Indian specification sheet before treating them as confirmed for the local version.

Up to 715km of WLTP Range and Fast Charging
Mercedes-Benz quotes a maximum driving range of up to 715km on the WLTP test cycle. That figure is measured under standardised conditions and should not be taken as the range owners will achieve on every Indian road. Traffic, speed, weather, air-conditioning use and driving style can all affect the distance covered on a charge. The SUV is also reported to use an 800-volt electrical architecture and support DC fast charging at up to 330kW. With a compatible high-power charger, a 10-to-80 per cent charge is claimed to take around 22 minutes. Actual charging time will vary with the charger and battery temperature.
39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen Takes Centre Stage
Inside, one of the biggest talking points is the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. It brings the driver display, central infotainment screen and front passenger display together in one wide digital panel. The international model also features the latest MBUX software and an AI-assisted voice interface. A panoramic roof, premium seating and driver-assistance technology are among the other features expected to be part of the package. The exact equipment offered in India, however, will be confirmed at launch.
Expected Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Price in India
Mercedes-Benz has not announced the official India price yet. Some media reports have suggested an expected ex-showroom price in the region of ₹80 lakh to ₹90 lakh. This is only an estimate, not a confirmed price from the company. Local assembly, the level of imported content and the final variant strategy will all play a role in deciding where the SUV is positioned. The official price and booking details should become clearer at the November 4 launch.
What Buyers Should Check Before Making a Decision
The claimed 715km WLTP range is impressive, but it should not be the only factor in a buying decision. Prospective owners should look at the availability of fast chargers in their city, the practicality of installing a home charger, battery warranty coverage and the reach of Mercedes-Benz’s service network. It will also be worth checking the India-spec feature list, charging support and delivery timeline once the company releases the details. The GLC Electric is shaping up to be an important addition to India’s luxury EV market, but its final value will depend on the price and equipment Mercedes-Benz announces.
