Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Design
Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 features a classic cruiser design with a low-slung body and distinctive styling. At the front, it gets a round headlamp, sculpted fuel tank and wide handlebar. Its fastback-style seat and short rear fender give the motorcycle a different appearance from the existing X440. The 10-spoke cast aluminium wheels and tapered exhaust muffler further complement its overall styling.
Harley-Davidson has introduced three colour options for Sprint 440: Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black and Teal Thunder. Its fuel tank features an orange graphic with Harley-Davidson branding, while a Harley Hare character graphic appears on the side cover. These styling elements give the motorcycle a distinctive identity while retaining familiar design details associated with the brand.
Engine and Performance
Powering the new Sprint 440 is a 440cc, single-cylinder, air-and-oil-cooled engine. It produces 27 HP at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of maximum torque at 4,000rpm. The engine features electronic fuel injection and a gear-driven counterbalancer designed to reduce vibrations. Its long-stroke configuration is aimed at delivering usable torque at lower engine speeds.
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slip clutch. Fifth and sixth gears feature overdrive ratios, helping maintain lower engine speeds during highway cruising. Harley-Davidson claims fuel economy of up to 34kmpl under combined riding conditions. A 9-litre fuel tank completes its powertrain package.
Seat Height and Riding Position
One of the main highlights of Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is its accessible riding position. It has a laden seat height of 671mm, while its unladen seat height stands at 683mm. Its narrow profile and low seat are designed to make it easier for riders to reach the ground when stationary.
The motorcycle has a ready-to-ride weight of 187kg. Harley-Davidson will also offer optional Reach and Tallboy seats, allowing riders to choose a seating position according to their height and preference. A Brawler Solo Seat will also be available for those who prefer a single-seat setup.
Suspension and Braking
Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 gets 43mm inverted front forks with 130mm of suspension travel. At the rear, it features twin piggyback coil-over shock absorbers offering 76mm of wheel travel. The rear suspension also comes with seven-step preload adjustment, allowing riders to adjust the setup according to riding conditions and load.
For braking, the motorcycle uses a 320mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. ABS is offered as standard equipment. It rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, featuring 100/90-19 front and 150/60ZR17 rear tyres.
Features and Technology
Sprint 440 combines traditional cruiser styling with modern equipment. It gets a 3.5-inch round colour TFT instrument display that provides riding information, including speed, engine rpm, odometer and trip details. Its circular design maintains a classic motorcycle appearance while offering a digital interface.
Other features include full LED lighting and a USB-C charging port positioned above the headlamp. Harley-Davidson will also offer optional accessories such as saddlebags, a passenger backrest, an engine guard, a detachable windshield and alternative seat options.
India Launch Date and Expected Price
Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 will make its public debut at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy, from November 5 to 8. The company has confirmed Spring 2027 availability for the US market, while its international rollout will depend on individual markets.
According to Gaadiwaadi’s report, Sprint 440 could arrive in India in the coming months. Its partnership with Hero MotoCorp makes the motorcycle particularly relevant to the Indian market. However, Harley-Davidson has not officially confirmed an India launch date or showroom price. Its Indian pricing and availability details are still awaited.
