Hero XPulse 450 Gets a New 421cc Engine
The Hero XPulse 450 comes with an all-new 421cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC engine. This motor produces 46.7bhp at 9,100rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
These figures make the new motorcycle a significant upgrade over the smaller XPulse 210. Its larger engine is expected to provide stronger highway performance while retaining the off-road character associated with Hero’s adventure motorcycle range. The company has developed this motorcycle with inputs from its Hero MotoSports Team Rally.

Rally-Inspired Design and Suspension Setup
Hero has taken inspiration from its international rally racing experience while developing the XPulse 450. The motorcycle features an adventure-focused design with a tall riding stance and hardware developed for challenging road conditions. Its development has also benefited from the company’s experience in events such as the Dakar Rally.
At the front, the motorcycle gets a 43mm KYB upside-down cartridge fork with 225mm of suspension travel. The front suspension offers 22-step compression and rebound damping adjustment. This setup allows riders to adjust suspension behaviour according to different riding conditions. Complete rear suspension specifications are still awaited.
Hero XPulse 450 Features and Technology
One of the biggest highlights of the new adventure motorcycle is its 7-inch TFT instrument display. The screen comes with integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, making smartphone connectivity and navigation more convenient for riders during long-distance journeys.
Hero has also showcased tubeless spoke wheels on the motorcycle. Its overall equipment package focuses on adventure riding, combining modern technology with off-road-oriented hardware. However, the company has not yet released the complete production-specification sheet, so some equipment details may change before the final version arrives.
Hero XPulse 450 India Launch and Expected Price
Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that the XPulse 450 will reach international markets before its Indian introduction. However, the company has not announced an official India launch date or ex-showroom price. The motorcycle is currently being showcased in prototype form at EICMA 2026.
According to reports, the production version is expected to arrive in the second half of 2027. This timeline is based on current reports and should not be considered a confirmed Indian launch date. Pricing details are also unavailable at present, and buyers will have to wait for Hero’s official announcement.
Hero XPulse 450 Rivals in India
Once launched in India, the Hero XPulse 450 is expected to compete with established adventure motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure. Both motorcycles already have a presence in India’s middleweight adventure segment, offering a combination of touring capability and off-road performance.
The new Hero motorcycle will bring a 421cc engine, adjustable KYB suspension and smartphone connectivity to this competitive segment. Its final pricing, weight, ground clearance and production specifications will play an important role in determining how it performs against its rivals. More details are expected closer to its market launch.
