Toyota is preparing to introduce a major update to its popular Innova Hycross in India. The upcoming facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads, with spy images suggesting changes to its front-end styling, lighting setup and overall appearance. According to recent automotive reports, Toyota is expected to introduce the updated MPV on November 25, 2026, giving buyers a refreshed version of one of its most popular family vehicles.
Apart from exterior changes, the new Innova Hycross is expected to receive important cabin upgrades, including larger digital displays and updated technology. Another development attracting attention is the possibility of a Flex-Fuel Strong Hybrid powertrain. Toyota has already showcased an ethanol-compatible hybrid prototype based on this MPV, although its introduction in the production model has not yet been officially confirmed.

Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift
The upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is expected to receive noticeable changes at the front. Recent spy images suggest a redesigned grille, slimmer LED headlamps and a revised front bumper. Some test vehicles have also shown different styling around the fog lamp housing, giving the MPV a slightly more modern appearance. Toyota could take inspiration from its larger SUV models while updating the front styling, although the final design is yet to be revealed.
At the rear, updated LED tail-lamp detailing and a revised bumper are expected. However, major changes to the side profile, roofline and overall body structure are unlikely. Toyota may also introduce new alloy wheel designs as part of the facelift package. Overall, the company appears to be focusing on improving the existing design rather than making significant changes to the MPV’s proportions.

Interior Could Get Bigger 12.3-Inch Displays
Interior upgrades could be another important part of the upcoming facelift. Recent updates to the Indonesian-market Kijang Innova Zenix provide some indication of what Toyota may introduce in India. The updated model gets a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen on selected variants, while hybrid versions also receive a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. This is a noticeable improvement over the current Indian model’s 10.1-inch infotainment system.
Toyota could bring similar display upgrades to the Indian-spec Innova Hycross, along with revised interior trims and updated seat upholstery. However, equipment specifications can differ between international markets, so the Indonesian model should not be treated as confirmation of Indian features. Final details about touchscreen size, digital displays and other cabin equipment will become clear when Toyota reveals the updated MPV.
Flex-Fuel Hybrid Engine Could Be a Major Highlight
One of the most interesting possibilities surrounding the facelift is a Flex-Fuel Strong Hybrid powertrain. Toyota has already demonstrated an ethanol-compatible hybrid prototype based on the Innova Hycross. This prototype was showcased in 2023 and later displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in 2024. Its development highlights Toyota’s interest in combining hybrid technology with alternative fuel options for the Indian market.
Recent reports suggest that the company could be working on a production-ready version capable of supporting higher ethanol blends, potentially including E30 fuel. E30 contains 30 per cent ethanol mixed with petrol. If introduced, this technology could make the Innova Hycross an interesting option for buyers looking for a hybrid MPV compatible with higher ethanol-blended fuels. However, Toyota has not confirmed whether this technology will be available with the upcoming facelift.
Existing Petrol and Strong Hybrid Engines Likely to Continue
The current Innova Hycross is available with two 2.0-litre engine options, and both are expected to continue with the updated model. The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 174 PS and is paired with a CVT automatic transmission. This version is aimed at buyers who prefer a conventional petrol powertrain with automatic convenience.
The strong hybrid version combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and produces a combined output of 186 PS. It uses an e-CVT transmission and offers a more fuel-efficient driving experience compared with the conventional petrol version. Toyota is expected to retain this setup, although modifications could be introduced if the company decides to offer Flex-Fuel compatibility. No official engine specification changes have been announced so far.
Expected Price of Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift
Toyota is expected to position the updated Innova Hycross close to its existing premium MPV lineup. However, additional equipment, revised styling and possible powertrain improvements could result in a price increase over the current model. Initial estimates suggest that prices could fall between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 35 lakh, depending on the variant and engine option.
These figures should be treated as expected prices rather than confirmed details. Toyota has not announced the official variant-wise pricing yet. Once launched, the updated MPV will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, which shares its underlying platform and hybrid powertrain technology. Buyers in this segment will be particularly interested in the final feature list and price difference between petrol and hybrid variants.
Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift Launch Date in India
According to recent reports from automotive publications, Toyota is expected to launch the facelifted Innova Hycross in India on November 25, 2026. CarWale, Autocar India and CarDekho have reported this date, although some reports have also mentioned November 26.
